The mission of the Milford Land Conservation Trust is the preservation and conservation of the natural resources of open space land in the City of Milford.
The Milford Land Conservation Trust, Inc., is a nonstock, 501(c)(3) nonprofit, registered Connecticut corporation whose primary purpose is to own, preserve, and maintain land in its natural state throughout Milford, Connecticut, for future generations.
We are a group of conservation-minded Milford residents who have, for more than 50 years, promoted an understanding of the role humans must play as protectors of our natural environment. We own a mixed portfolio of donated estate properties and purchased lands throughout Milford, which includes wetlands, forested properties, and our signature preserved meadow.
While the Land Trust is a conservation- and ecology-oriented organization, it is by charter not an activist group. The corporation does not take public a position on any issue.
Thus, the Trust is a "quiet" organization whose major objective is to act as a repository for undeveloped land. Trust land is free from the threat of commercial development or political pressure.
