Milford Land Conservation Trust Plans Tree Dedication Honoring Past Presidents

The Milford Land Conservation Trust, Inc. (MLCT) has experienced an active 50th Anniversary year. Founded in 1971, this nonprofit all-volunteer private organization is a land steward of over 125 acres throughout Milford from Devon to the Borough of Woodmont.

Despite the restrictions of a pandemic, the Land Trust has continued to maintain its properties, and hold in-person and online activities. Highlights from the year includes closing on a parcel on Carriage Drive bordering Calf Pen Creek, erecting an Osprey platform on Gulf Pond that attracted an Osprey family which hatched a fledgling, holding an online environmental Trivia Contest with prize winners, hosting an Annual Meeting with Guest Speaker Frank Gallo, author of "Birding in Connecticut," and finalizing ownership on Old Oronoque Road.

The Trust will hold a Tree Dedication in honor of past presidents the late John Dockendorff (1998-2016) and Steven Rogers (1993-1995), Kathleen Hiten (1995-1998) and Allan Wilcox (2016-2020) on Saturday, November 6th 2021 at 3pm at its flagship property, Nancy's Meadow, First Avenue, in Laurel Beach. The public is invited. Respectful COVID protocols will be observed. Light refreshments will be served.
